An “extended” version of the timeless Spyderco Native, the Native Chief stretches the Developed in close cooperation with Crucible® Industries, CPM® SPY27® is a cobalt-enriched stainless steel that enhances the time-tested chemistry of Japanese VG-10 with the Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process. This state-of-the-art method wrings maximum performance out of the steel by reducing alloy segregation and ensuring a fine, homogenous microstructure. Proprietary to Spyderco, this high-performance blade material is renowned for its ability to get “sticky sharp,” while balancing edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. This Native Chief Lightweight proudly showcases this elite steel in its full-flat-ground blade and further highlights it with a signature cobalt-blue FRN handle.
